Would you recommend a career in Allergy & Immunology?

I’m considering going into medicine, but I don’t know what specialty is right for me. I would like a career where I can tackle important problems and make people’s lives better. What do you guys think? Would this be the right specialty? I’m trying to figure out which one is right for me. #medicine #healthcare #career-choice #career #science

If that is what you are looking at then I believe that is a fine choice, but you should just go with what you feel is the best decision.
Thank you comment icon Hi Ryan, this doesn't directly answer the students question. Any insight you have around the allergy & immunology would be helpful! Gurpreet Lally, Admin

Ricardo’s Answer

Both of this specialties are co-relationated, because most allergies are originated by a immune system activation. If you see yourself as a doctor, go for it, you need to be passionate about you career and very committed. Being a Dr and helping people will be in your life forever. I studied medicine for a year, then became a Engineer and I regret everyday not becoming a Dr. I am still passionate about medicine and all I have now from a Dr life are the Tv Shows :(.

Making people lives better gives your life a good goal.

Fantastic sub specialty out of internal medicine. Fantastic quality of life. However, if you crave excitement, complex patients with complex problems, night call, fatigue, and saving lives on a regular basis... this may not be the field for you.
