Hi Jocelyn -
I saw this question the other day, and sorry to see no one has answered it yet! Have you looked at culinary schools? I think several community colleges have a culinary program you can pursue, and you can probably start in August.

Hi Jocelyn! My best recommendation for you is to look for local community colleges that offer an associates degree in baking and pastry. Most trade schools do not offer degrees that you may wish to advance later on. Community college degrees can also transfe to state colleges where you can obtain degrees in areas such as food science. I am a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Baking and Pastry, but I started out at a community college in Dallas and was able to obtain a large portion of my tuition through scholarships from a 4.0 GPA from a community college. Best of luck! Keep your tuition low!!!!!
