If I start out as an undergraduate degree in education, how easy would it be for me to go to graduate school for sports psychology?
I would like to coach at the high school level. My plan is to get my undergraduate degree and start teaching/coaching. I want to go on and slowly work towards a career as a sports psychologist. Would I be starting over If I followed through with my undergraduate degree in education? #teacher #psychologist #administrator #college #science #career #career-counseling

I would be careful with this pair of majors. In fact, I would go talk to a school student advisor who could give you some expert information on the compatibility of both majors. It seems that there is enough of a difference that you might encounter some trouble building one on the other but that's not my area of expertise. My best wishes to you and your studies and career. Take care. Tom

Jacob: Teaching and coaching are very similar. Being a psychologist is somewhat different, but can certainly fit with your life goals. There is a similar profession called Life Coaching which is close to psychology. Taking classes or even getting a degree in psychology would be a fine idea if you want to be a sports coach. If you watch a really good coach he or she will use different approaches with each player to get the best results, that usually means they are using psychology, even if they don't know it.
Best of luck to you.
