Look for jobs that are less impacted by the current COVID situation. Like food service and medical field are still up and running. So is home improvement. Start with the industries that are making a difference during this time.
Check your local groceries stores. If you are physically shopping there for groceries, ask to speak with a Manager. If not, apply online. Also, I keep seeing advertisements for Amazon (work from home). Not sure if they are still hiring but worth a check. Good luck and be safe!

Hi Riek!
I agree with the other answers above. Home improvement stores are very busy. Grocery stores are also looking for additional help. Keep applying and remember to follow up on your application by calling the place of business.
Good Luck! :-)

Hi Riek! You should check out the job site called Indeed if you are not familiar with it already. You can easily see what places are hiring in your area and just apply online! Hope this helps!

I think consistency is key in this situation. The places that are most in need of cashiers right now would be an essential business, like grocery stores. I would suggest applying in person to all the grocery stores in your area, and if you have contact to a manager make sure to follow up with them a few days after submitting your application, this way you will be at the top of their mind when they decide to hire someone.

Job/career websites are very helpful when it comes to finding a job. Indeed.com is a great site that you can enter in keywords and location for what type of job you are searching for (or keep it open if you really don’t have a preference), and a large majority of employers post to indeed. There’s also monster.com, or careerfinder.com. It really helps to increase your odds by applying to several jobs, as many as you can that fit what you’re looking to do. And also make sure that your resume is up to date and looks well done. Ensure you’re filling out applications fully and accurately. As a previous hiring manager, I will tell you that I passed on applications that weren’t filled out fully or correctly. So take your time and make sure you fill it out correctly.

The more jobs you apply to the better the chance you will get hired. It would be worth it to look at any business that is close to where you live and put in applications.
