Kathleen’s Answer

As for any career you must be willing to grow and change with time. That includes medicine. The medical professions themselves are always evolving, but this evolution is not limited to new technologies . Go after what really interests you and you will be energized by the changes that occur in your field. Partnering with new technology will bring better outcomes to patients.

Fred’s Answer

The question assumes that there ARE specific kinds of doctors that are becoming obsolete, but I'm not aware of that being the case.

I have heard that some software is better at reading x-rays and CT scans than radiologists, but the general public may not be ready to trust
a computer yet. My guess is that most technology will be an aid to physicians for a long while before it replaces them,

Richard’s Answer

For my career, AI intimidates me. I am a radiologist. I believe that computers will surpass humans at interpretation of medical imaging within my lifetime. But if that happens it could be better for society if AI can reduce medical errors.

My job is somewhat protected though. I do interventional radiology and do not expect a robot to be able to perform procedures like embolizing or ablating a tumor during my career.

So, to answer your question, the "thinking" specialties will probably be replaced before the "doing" specialties.
