What is the best way to discover what career I am interested in during college?

I honestly have no idea what I want to do with my life, but I know there is a career out there that will be perfect for me. I just don't know how to find it. Are there certain classes I can take that will help me decide? I plan to attend UC Santa Barbara. #college #career #college-major #career-choice #college-jobs #undecided #career-plan

Hi there,

Good question. Full disclosure, I didn't know what I wanted to do until I was in my early twenties. I'd suggest taking electives during your first few years of college in subjects you are interested in. This will help you narrow down your interest and decide what path you want to take in your education and future career. Best of luck!

Hi Paige,

Do not be discourage. For the first year in college take all your class electives. Later talk to your counselor to set a plan toward graduation. Every semester make sure your goals is reachable eventually you will know exactly what you want to study. This process will help you tremendously. It took me two years before I knew what I wanted an open communication with my counselor each year kept me focus.

Good luck.
