It all depends on what your goals and interests are. An accounting degree would always be in demand. You would be studying how to manage the books and records of a company and/or individual. It generally is a stable job because accounting is a necessary function.


A finance degree would focus more on financial markets and investments. A career here is probably less stable but potentially more lucrative.

I agree that choice should align with your passions. I have found that folks that study accounting can work in accounting or finance, whereas a folks that study finance often dont have the skillset required to work in accounting.
