Grace’s Answer

I think it's wonderful that you have these desires so specifically named. I work in an office job, but I would venture to guess that there are opportunities out there in agricultural development or environmental consulting (government and commercial entities) that could take you to places around the world and allow you to work outside. I would look for those places where people working there travel and work outside. You may not be traveling when you are junior in your career, but as you become more seasoned in your field, you may have those opportunities. Always always speak up and raise your hand to show your interest in opportunities to travel to show others in the organization that you have that passion. And always keep an eye to the periphery to make sure that you don't miss those interesting emerging fields along the way. Good luck!!

Leslie’s Answer

My daughter graduated last May from SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY. ESF stands for State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. From her 4 years there, I learned that there are many environmental opportunities that provide opportunities for international travel: Landscape Architecture, Wildlife Sciences, Ecology, Biology/Marine Biology, even Forestry. In fact, the SUNY ESF Landscape Architecture major had a study abroad program. My daughter's roommate who was a biology major spent a summer in Mongolia studying wolverines.

There are other potential opportunities for international travel jobs: be a linguist/teach English abroad, geology, and even archaeology.

Michael’s Answer

If international travel is important to you, you most likely will have to limit your target companies to large international corporations that have offices in many locations. A company that is US only based or doesn't have a huge travel budget, would severely limit the international travel opportunities.

Jobs that allow you to travel don’t just include remote or work-from-home opportunities. You can also earn a living by choosing employment that requires travel as part of the job’s duties. Business professionals often have to travel to meet new and existing clients or to attend conferences or close sales deals.

Jobs that require travel or allow you to travel as you work, so you can get out there and start adventuring.

Being a KOL is a good choice without feeling too much pressure. If you have a good idea, some manufacturers will ask you to help them propaganda and have more opportunities to work outside.

Knowing multiple languages is a good path for this; maybe being an interpreter or something along that line.
