What else is involved in marine biology besides research?

As much as I love research and would love to have my own study, I do not want to be studying and doing research as a career. What is beyond it? #science #marine #oceanography

Vernon’s Answer

Research should be enough, but you will want to look at the seafood industry, fishing companies, even oil drilling companies...if that's what you're willing to do. Otherwise, you're looking at theme parks.

Teng Keng’s Answer

If research is being ruled out, your two other most likely options are education or observation. Education type jobs can be teaching (with a teaching credential) or being an educator with a museum. Observation type jobs usually involve working with construction companies or the oil and gas industry. You'll be making sure that the companies observe all applicable environmental laws.
