What career could I have with a major in psychology?

Hi Elizabeth! I was a Psychology major and am now I work for a wine company, you can really do anything that you want! You can be anything from a psychotherapist to an HR Dircetor to a Marketing exexcutive. I was drawn to the topic the same way you were, just by being interested in it, that's the biggest thing that you keep in mind when you're looking for your career path. As long as you make sure you're pursuing what you think you'll be interested in and what'll make you happy, you'll be successful.

With a BS in psychology you cannot be a psychotherapist...that job role requires an advanced degree.

However there are many directions in which you can go such as marketing, sales, social work type positions with non-profits or government, research assistant, therapeutic support specialist (TSS) and Human Resources. Those are but a few ideas.

Well developed written and oral communication skills will help you to land a job!

I would recommend visiting the Career Counseling Office at your college or university for further discussion AND more importantly job leads.
