To prepare for a career as a forensic scientist and for graduate school in forensics, focus on taking core biology courses such as general biology, genetics, and molecular biology, as well as essential chemistry courses like general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. Include physics and mathematics (especially statistics) to build a strong analytical foundation. If available, enroll in forensic science courses to gain specific knowledge about the field, and consider classes in criminal justice or law to understand the legal aspects. Additionally, seek out specialized courses like toxicology, forensic biology, and DNA analysis, and engage in laboratory work to develop practical skills. By dedicating yourself to these studies and gaining relevant experience, you'll be well-prepared for graduate school and a successful career in forensic science. Stay curious and proactive—your passion and hard work will pave the way for a rewarding future in forensics!
