Hi Wesley,
Thanks for the question. I've seen a lot of different advice from my time at the CCPA, so hopefully I can give you at least a couple of tips that are helpful. First of all, start looking early. Many seniors and the CCPA counselors have told me to consider the job hunt as another class in terms of time commitment. Hopefully, you still have time for that.
If not, don't panic. First of all, create a good LinkedIn profile. Many recruiters look for and reach out to job applicants via LinkedIn. Also make sure to have a polished resume, and learn how to write a good cover letter. Once you've taken those steps, it's time to look at the different job opportunities out there. Apply to any that seem interesting, and make sure to do your homework! This is especially true if and when you are invited to an interview, or even the second one. Make sure to go in prepared with knowledge about the company beforehand, and it's always good to have a couple of questions in hand (be careful, though, these questions shouldn't be questions where the answers are easily found on-line. Rather, they should be questions such as "What is the work environment like?"). After the interview, don't forget to send a thank-you note for their time, either hand-written or by email. Finally, don't give up. If you don't get it the first couple of times, keep trying.
I know that it seems overwhelming, but take it one step at a time. You can do it! Good luck, and I hope this was helpful!
