What can you do in Audiology without going to grad school?
Many students in college are currently deciding if grad school is right for them. Is there anything you can do within the field of Audiology that does not requiring moving forward to grad school and getting your AuD? #graduate-school #audiology #science #higher-education

At our practice we have one audiology technician. She has an associates degree in an unrelated field and we trained her at our practice to do hearing test and fix hearing aids. She also helps us with calling patients and shipping and checking in repairs. She probably makes about half as much as we do as audiologists so the pay is not as good. It’s getting a lot harder to hire new audiologists because there are a lot of job openings and not as many applicants so there are more opportunities for audiology technicians now. I would suggest that if you’re interested in the field of audiology and you see a job posting for an audiologist that you call that practice and say you’re willing to be trained as an audiology technician. They may train you for the job.

I have a friend who is an audiologist with a master's. The answer is very little if anything, and unfortunately even when you get a master's degree, audiologists do not make comparable money to other similarly educated medical professionals.

Some states have a minimum requirement of a Master's Degree. Others now require a Doctorate. Without either, there is little you can do. You could look into being an Audiology Assistant, which is like a medical assistant. There are some things you can help with, but you make very little money.
