What University is good to go to if you want to go

I play football, basketball, and soccer. I am not on a basket team and a football team, but I am in a soccer team. I am asking this Question because I want to be a soccer player when I grow up. #university #sports #colleges #soccer #professional-sports

Do you play soccer for a competitive team or just High School? As a Manager for my daughters competitive soccer team, they use a system College Fit Finder that lets them manage their profile. Even if you don't play competitive, you have the option of getting your own membership (for about $30/month). They enter their academics (GPA, SAT/ACT scores, etc) and athletic (goals, assists, saves, etc) accomplishments. It can then show what colleges in certain areas (CA or Pacific Coast) you are interested in that fit that criteria. Make sure you look at cost of school, as well as the acceptance percentage to see what your chances are to be accepted.

I would then look into College ID Soccer Camps. These camps are used by coaches to look at your talent among other incoming college kids (usually HS Sophomore to Senior) and their current team. When attending, besides showing off your talent, make sure you are asking questions about the school to the coaches and asking questions to the current players on their college life with soccer and likes/dislikes about their team/coaches. A good website to find out what colleges (DI to NAIA) is going here. Now there is a cost to go to each one, so make sure you look to see what the cost of the school is to determine if it fits your budget (with or without grants, scholarships, etc) and what Majors they have. If you did not know, DI an DII schools can offer athletic and academic scholarships, but DIII can only provide academic scholarships.

Another option is to look at your Community (Junior) College(s). See if the Jr. College has a competitive team for soccer. One of my friends coached at a Jr. College and gave some of his players scholarships to play for the Jr. College team, which cost them nothing or barely anything at all. Another good reason to look into a Jr. College is to get your prerequisites out of the way, if you don't know what major you want to look into.

Speaking of that, if you don't know what Major you want to study. I would recommend reaching out to your High School Counselor or local business for a Job Shadow and/or mini-Internship Program to see what professions you might be interested in looking into.

Charles recommends the following next steps:

Research Job Shadow Program.
Visit college campus, but don't just look at the campus; look around the city and surrounding area.
Register for a Soccer ID Camp at a few colleges and ask questions from both Coaches and their Players.

The Best 10 Universities for Men’s Soccer

To obtain an athletic scholarship in the United States you don’t need to be a superstar. There are so many universities in the country, some with a very high competitive level and some of them with a lower level, so the chances of obtaining a scholarship vary from a very wide range, it truly can be easier than it is expected. This doesn’t mean that anyone can get a scholarship, but there are options for both players that compete at a very high level as well as options for players that compete at a not-so-high level.

1. Stanford University – Stanford, CA

The Stanford Cardinals men’s soccer team has become in the last couple of years the best soccer team in the NCAA. They play on the Pacific-12 conference

2. Indiana University – Bloomington, IN

The Indiana Hoosiers men’s soccer team is probably the most historically successful soccer program in the United States. They play on the Big ten conference

3. Wake Forest – Winston-Salem, NC

Wake Forest has the third-best men’s soccer program in the NCAA. They play for the ACC conference.

4. UNC-Chapel Hill – NC

The UNC men’s soccer team is considered the fourth best program in the United States. Historically, they have always been candidates to win it all. They compete, just like Wake Forest, in the ACC.

5. The University of Akron – Akron, OH

the Akron Zips have one of the best men’s soccer programs in the United States. They compete in the Mid-American Conference.

6. Southern Methodist University – Dallas, TX

The SOuthern Mwthodist Mustangs are one of the best men’s soccer programs in the NCAA as well. They compete in the American Athletic Conference (AAC).

7. University of Louisville – Louisville, KY

The Louisville Cardinals are, possibly, the least historically successful team in this list, since most of their successes have come in the last 10 years. Having said this, they have become one of the most competitive teams in college soccer in this time. Just like Wake Forest and UNC, the Cardinals compete in the ACC, the most competitive conference.

8. Clemson University – Clemson, SC

he Clemson Tigers men’s soccer team are another program ranked among the most successful historically in the NCAA. The Clemson Tigers compete in the ACC, just like many teams mentioned above.

9. Duke University – Durham, NC

The Duke university men’s soccer program has been one of the most successful ones in the country, and it is currently one of the best places to play soccer at. Just like 4 teams mentioned previously, Duke competes in the ACC.

10. Michigan State University – East Lansing, MI

The Michigan State Spartans mentioned in this Top-10. Just like Indiana, the Spartans compete in the Big Ten, the second-best conference in the country.
