I’m not a magician, but I have close friend, Jonah, who is a talented magician. I told him about your question this is his answer:
"Studying magic is mostly a "self study subject." There are many groups, camps and classes, but few schools. One School/ Club I was taught in was Hollywood's Magic Castle in Los Angeles California. If you have the opportunity to learn there, I highly recommend it. Most people learn magic through, books, DVDs, YouTube, collaborations, and mentors. If you have no access to any of these thing, Magic in short is the study of enhancing science and perception to disbelief. So believe it or not you can learn magic through science, you just have to present it as magic."
Here are some of MY insights/thoughts when I interacted with him and other magicians. Go explore and try to become a magician if you want. Do a lot more research on the topic like my friend Jonah says you have so many resources" books, DVDs, YouTube, collaborations, and mentors." Magic is a really interesting skill to have. You definitely have to look at things differently and more creatively. You're not going to become a magician overnight it takes lots of practice. Practice tricks you learn/create on your friends and family see what kind of reactions they have. And another thing you're going need to do is to always learn magic tricks after you have mastered other tricks. You always will be learning
I have some questions for you do you want to do this full time or part time? Will you're learning to become a magician look at other things you might interested in. You won't be able to fully financially support yourself starting out. So maybe get a job and in your free time go walk on the streets practice your magic in public when you're good enough. Get yourself out there, it helps a lot if you have an excellent stage presence. Practice is key. Always practice and one day you'll become you'll be really good at magic. Possibly it will be a good career for you!
Best of luck,
Ben

There are no colleges for magic, unless you're studying to be a Historian or a practitioner of healing arts. Most educational venues that deal with traditional magic are certifiable apprenticeships from practitioners of ancient arts - usually, a nonprofit organization in culture and arts, or Gurus of religious practice. It's still in effect, but are just not so popular, as they typically are a cultural practice, and not an institution. We have a few here in Los Angeles, California (USA), and I've heard many travel to either Britain or India to learn Shamanism and Paganism.
Google it, and you'd be surprise what you'll find. But it is best to be a Historian, if one wishes to get a practical degree through a thesis.
