Learn about the students’ culture, first language, and past experiences are useful while preparing lesson plans, materials, and projects.
Create a pleasant atmosphere makes students feel comfortable and more confident in participating and expressing themselves in a positive way, which is essential for learning development.
Gestures, visuals, demonstrations, embedded definitions, audio supports, and bilingual glossaries make information comprehensible.
English students learn in different ways and speed. Therefore, English teachers should prepare different forms of assessment while providing constructive feedback appropriate for the students’ ages and levels for continual student improvement.
Encourage for collaboration with each other to support their English language learners.

To be a good teacher, the first step should be to understand the expectations of your student and clarify the scope of your teaching subject/topics cover on a particular day.
Prepare yourself accordingly and present the same. In case you encounter any unknown question, you may park it for next session. Come back and do your self study on the same and respond back during the next session.
It's always helpful in all field of study to upskill youself with changing time.

Hi Mariwan,
I would offer that you should consider where you are teaching English. Your audience can vary a great deal even in English speaking countries. I have lived in the USA my whole life, speaking English since birth. I have visited Canada, England, and Australia. Each country presented me with challenges in comprehension. This is usually around idioms and slang. You should make sure that you learn as much as you can, even if it means asking the person to explain what they mean. For example, in London, friends of mine often ask if I am feeling peckish. I could only picture birds pecking and I didn't think that sounded good so I just said no. After being asked several times over a few days, I finally asked - what do you mean by that? And my friend told me that she was asking me if I was hungry. I find most people, even strangers, respond really well to a respectful ask for clarification of what they mean.
I would also challenge you to practice your English outside of teaching conditions. Write or read a variety of content in English. Listening to songs in English. Look up words that you do not understand. I have studied Spanish throughout my life. I find that I am at my best in Spanish when I am interacting with the language in a variety of ways and keeping a dictionary handy.
