Brian’s Answer

Hello!
As a former English Teacher, here are a few recommendations:
1. Wherever possible, try and speak directly with native English speakers. Let people know you are learning, and you would welcome any corrections or suggestions.
2. Watching English language movies, TV, and listening to spoken English on the radio is useful. If you can, pause, replay, and try and repeat what you hear. If you can record yourself speaking and hear how you sound it can be useful
3. If you have friends who are also learning English, speak with them in English and try and help each other.
Good luck!
Brian

I agree with everything Brian said. Great advice! Follow everything he said. Also watch videos on YouTube. This is a great channel that helps you with conversational English. https://www.youtube.com/user/VideoLearnEnglish

I bet you can find a lot of other good videos too. Youtube is a great resource to learn practically anything! Just type in "how to (insert topic you are interested in learning about.)" An example could be "How to order at a restaurant in English."

Best of luck! I hope you become a better speaker! :)

Hello,

Improving English Speaking Skills

Improving your English speaking skills can be a rewarding and enriching experience. Here are some effective strategies to enhance your English language proficiency for speaking:

1. Practice Regularly: Regular practice is essential for improving English speaking skills. Engage in conversations with native speakers, join English-speaking clubs or groups, and participate in discussions to gain confidence and fluency.

2. Expand Vocabulary: Enhance your vocabulary by learning new words and phrases regularly. Reading books, newspapers, and online articles can help you expose yourself to a wide range of vocabulary, which you can incorporate into your speech.

3. Listen Actively: Active listening is crucial for improving speaking skills. Pay attention to the pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm of spoken English by listening to podcasts, watching English movies or TV shows, and following English news channels.

4. Seek Feedback: Seek feedback from proficient English speakers or language instructors. Constructive criticism can help you identify areas for improvement and refine your speaking abilities.

5. Engage in Role-Playing: Practice role-playing scenarios to simulate real-life conversations. This can help you become more comfortable with various communication situations and improve your spontaneity in speaking English.

6. Utilize Language Learning Apps: There are numerous language learning apps available that offer interactive exercises, pronunciation practice, and language drills to enhance speaking skills.

7. Enroll in Language Courses: Consider enrolling in English language courses or workshops that focus on speaking skills. Professional guidance can provide structured learning and targeted improvement.

8. Record Yourself Speaking: Record yourself speaking in English and listen to the recordings critically. This self-assessment can help you identify areas of improvement and track your progress over time.

9. Embrace Mistakes: Don’t be afraid of making mistakes while speaking English. Embracing mistakes as part of the learning process can alleviate anxiety and boost confidence in speaking.

10. Stay Motivated: Maintain a positive attitude and stay motivated throughout your language learning journey. Set achievable goals and celebrate milestones to keep yourself inspired.

By incorporating these strategies into your daily routine, you can significantly enhance your English speaking skills and become more proficient in expressing yourself fluently and confidently in the language.

Anna’s Answer

Music is a great way to get more comfortable speaking. Using the internet, it's really easy to get the lyrics to any song. Get some songs you really like, get the lyrics, and practice singing along! With books, try reading them aloud. Those should help strengthen the connections to make speaking easier when you are having conversations.
