Dr. Kelly’s Answer

Here's an enhanced version of the text for post-pandemic wage updates: The yearly income of a dietitian in New York can fluctuate based on various elements such as their level of experience, educational background, and the particular sector they're employed in. Generally, dietitians in New York have the potential to earn a salary ranging from $55,000 to $80,000 annually. Interestingly, recent job advertisements have started to feature signing bonuses, a trend that wasn't common in the business world before. Dietitians possessing advanced degrees or specialized certifications, or those employed in hospitals or private practices, may have the opportunity to earn higher wages. For the most up-to-date and accurate salary data, it's recommended to review recent job postings or industry reports. Ultimately, the salary you can expect will depend on the opportunities available at the time of your application.

Kathryn’s Answer

Hi Jessica - Salaries can really vary based on location. I would recommend using reliable sites such as GlassDoor or ZipRecruiter. Either site should be able to give you a general range for salary. It looks like on average for the United States the salary for a dietitian is somewhere between $52k-$75k. You should also do research into how much experience is required to start earning the average, starting salary is typically lower for most careers.

Cameren’s Answer

So just like for most jobs, the average salary for a registered dietitian varies from state to state. The average starting salary is around $48,648 based on 318 salaries on payscale.com which is much lower than the annual salary of someone with more experience. For example, according to Zip Recruiter, the average annual salary for an RD in New York is $64,966 and in North Carolina the average annual salary is $47,646.

So as you can see there are major discrepancies for annual income of an RD based on location. Other areas that could impact salary are degree type, special certifications, and job title. I would suggest looking into the previously mentioned websites for more information.
