Anna’s Answer
Hello! I am currently in medical school, and I spent a lot of time considering the sacrifices and rewards of a career as a physician before I pursued medical school. I found that when I shadowed and interacted with physicians, I was so inspired and fascinated by the work they did and the relationships they had with their patients. Whenever I begin to get down about the amount of work, I find talking to physicians or shadowing to always remind me of the end goal and what I am working toward. When we are through the COVID-19 pandemic, if you are able to shadow, volunteer at a hospital etc. that will really show you if you are truly passionate about pursuing a career as a physician and the many hours of studying and constant learning that goes into it!

I have family that are in the medical field. They aren't doctors but they absolutely 100% do not regret getting into the medical field. The hours are long but they love just how rewarding of a job field it is and absolutely all the patients they come in contact with

It is! Trust me! When you get a return it’s more worthy than all the hardships you faced once.
Hi Sarah, can you go into more detail on how it's worth it/what you find rewarding? The more details you can provide, the more helpful your answer is for the student!
