Paul’s Answer

It is important to first gain experience in your sport, even if it is an an assistance. Starting out at small school or a lower level will build up your knowledge of what is needed as you move up. There are several areas that have to be factored in aside from. your ability to make your team better. Your players have to be eligible, so what kind if plan will you have to emphasize the Student-Athlete approach?

Christina’s Answer

I honestly think it is better to start off coaching at an unknown college/high school since you won't have that added pressure if you are just starting off your coaching career. If you already have some coaching experience under your belt and want to put your skills to the test, I say do a graduate assistant position for a college team before going international. BUT if the opportunity presents itself, I would say go for it. Big or small, put your knowledge to the test.
