Hi Zemira!
A sorority can help connect you with other women who have similar passions, goals, or philanthropic interests as you. Depending on the organization, they can have certain aspects of their organization which are important to them. In college I joined a sorority that celebrated diversity, academic integrity, and leadership. We would do community service, go out to different social events, and study together. One of the biggest pros is that you now have a community you can network with, which can help when you're searching for a job post-graduation. If you choose to join a sorority, be sure to do research and see which one fits your goals academically, socially, and personally.
Hope this helps!

Hello Zemira!
All of the above answers are awesome! Are you interested in joining a sorority? If not, that's okay! I wasn't involved in Greek life on my campus, but I had several friends who were. They helped the community, had fun at their philanthropic events and social outings, and they had a mandatory GPA to uphold (I don't know if all sororities are like that though). Like I mentioned, I wasn't involved in Greek life and I was fine without it-- but when you do go to college it is often important to find like minded people to hang around with to help you grow and learn! My friends in their different sororities had great experiences-- just be sure to do your research if you're interested in joining one!
Have fun!

"Sororities are a major part of college life for many American college students. Sororities provide a home, activities, events, and a sense of community to young girls during their college years. They can provide young women with a great social circle as well as academic, leadership, and career opportunities."

Gabriella’s Answer
Joining a sorority helps connect you with like-minded people that help shape you into who you are and connect you to a broader network. I highly encourage joining a sorority. Look for a sorority that you share interest with and that you feel yourself at. I also recommend to get as involved as you can. There are many leadership positions that you can apply to which add to your experience as an active member of the organization.

Typically, a college Sorority is an organization of like-minded women who come together to form a sisterhood under the purpose of that particular organization. Sometimes, it is just for socialization purposes, but many are centered around public service, mentoring, social justice, scholarship and other philanthropic goals.
