Polly’s Answer
It took many jobs for me to get to my "career', but I got there by experience and by doing what made me happy. I am in hospitality management, and I find great joy in serving customers and making their experiences memorable. Before hospitality though, I was wanting to get a degree in early childhood education with the goal to teach kindergarten. I had the experience of working at multiple hotels between 2013 and 2020, and my mind kind of shifted from wanted to teach kindergarten to wanting to work in customer service. When working at hotels, I really enjoy being that person that can help them. Their satisfaction at my service makes me happy at the end of the day, and so while at first I may have wanted to teach kindergarten, things change, and I decided hospitality management was my career choice and what I wanted to pursue. I am happy working at a front desk and being the first face guests see when they enter the hotel, I am content working as a front desk associate, I am honestly happy working with people and getting to make their experiences fun and enjoyable. I was not happy in retail, nor was I content in moving companies, and my dream of teaching kindergarten faded towards a new dream of being a front desk superstar. I enjoy delivering good customer service because it is what I expect when I am the customer, so that is what I am choosing to do with my life.

Hi Manuela! Thanks so much for answering this question. Would you mind translating your advice into English? Our platform is only equipped for English at the moment, but we're working on ways to enable different languages in the near future! :) Thanks so much in advance.
