Do you really need to have a bachelor's degree to become a graphic designer?

I mean a lot of jobs in this field want someone with a bachelor's degree but is it really necessary? #graphic-designer

It is not absolutely necessary, no. You could do certificate programs or get an occupational Associate's degree, as I did. It does depend on the type of job you want. 9-5 for large corporations: if this is what you want, or even to work for a large design agency, you will need to get the Bachelor's degree. Otherwise, you will be able to work for other types of companies, freelance, or start your own design service. I hope this helps!

The most important thing to have when applying for design jobs is a really great portfolio. Credentials (like where you went to school) don't matter as much as your talent. The best way to showcase your talent to potential employers is to have a website or blog with your work on it. And don't just put up the final product: make sure you outline the design challenge, what you were trying to achieve, your design process, and anyone you worked with (and what each of you did).
