What can you do with an English degree besides teaching?

I've always wanted to teach, but if things don't work out, I'm not sure what I can do with an English degree since it seems that each job requires something other than an English degree! #teaching #english

Hi Jordan! There are so many different careers you can consider with an English degree. I did one myself at university and know many of my fellow students have had diverse career paths. Individuals have gone into journalism, marketing, PR as well as teaching to name a few. Additionally, the degree subject does not necessarily hold you back applying for different jobs, as an English degree gives you a high level of critical thinking, analytical and evaluative skills which are useful and applicable to so many different industries. I have previously worked in human resources as well as corporate responsibility and was able to leverage my English degree through the skills I learnt on the course. I hope teaching works out but if not, you have a lot of other great options to explore!
