When should you expect a letter about your acceptance or if you've been turned down by a college?

If I was turned down by all of the colleges I applied for, would I have enough time to try to get into another one? How much time is there before senior year ends before I could find out? #college #university

Kim,

Why on earth would you think that all of them would turn you down? Did you apply to only Ivy league schools, are your grades really bad, or what? Try to think positively! Your other question, about criminal science related jobs, also reflects a lack of self-confidence. Positive thinking really does work. Please try it! It is hard to have self-confidence at a young age. If you are not already doing so, I'd encourage you to get into a martial arts program. It helps to develop the level of self confidence you will need going forward in life!

I think the schools will let you know by about March. I think there is early admissions and regular admissions. There are also late admissions. There are local 4 yr public universities, as well as junior colleges, that have relaxed standards. If your grades/test scores are not where they should be, you might be required to take remedial classes or be put on academic probation. Once you prove that you are capable of doing college level work, the probation will be lifted. So yes, you should have time to apply to other schools if you are turned down by your top choices.

Hi Kim!

It may vary based on the school and how competitive the program is. After doing a Google search, I saw that most applicants will hear back by April the latest. I was told to apply to as many schools as possible so you have more options to choose from, and have backup options in case you're not accepted by your primary choice. If you aren't accepted by the schools you apply to, you can always decide to attend a community college for the first year or two, and then transfer to a school that you originally desired. This will also save you a significant amount of money.

Best of Luck!
