Hi there, first of all congrats on making an exciting career choice in teaching. Teaching in a Chinese international school can be a fulfilling and challenging experience, and that experience would vary a lot depending on which place you choose to go and the type of school you work for. Broadly speaking, international schools in China can be categorized in two big groups - those serving primarily expats, and those attended mainly by the locals. For the first group, it is important for the teacher to be culturally sensitive to the diverse nationalities in the classroom, and to make sure that the way of teaching / communication style can be easily understood by all the students. For the second group, it is important to be mindful of the parents, as Chinese parents tend to focus a lot more on academic rigor and would keep close tabs on the quality of learning and schoolwork that the child receives in school.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Background note - I have worked as a strategy consultant looking at international schools in China. I have not worked as a teacher before in schools.
