I would research any industries or areas of interest you are interested in learning more about and see if your school has any career oriented activities around those areas. If there is a career fair at your school, I highly encourage listening to any presentations given by companies you want to learn more about, and networking with the recruiters. Building a relationship can separate yourself from other candidates, giving you a better chance of landing your desired internship.

Rhonda’s Answer

Most colleges have a Career Services office where they help students prepare for work opportunities. They usually provide services like resume preparation, interviewing skills, as well as posting for internship opportunities. You should find out where that office is and make regular visits to ensure you're prepared and aware of opportunities as they become available. You are on the right track! Internship experience is an important step to preparing for life after college.

Of course you need to find internships related to your major. Try to join verity of fields, within your major, to see what you enjoy the most and aim for it after you graduate.
