When applying for a job, is it necessary to have every popular social app? such as facebook or twitter
Im a chemical engineering student in my senior year and i have every social but Facebook and twitter are the least i use. Im very active on snapchat, instagram, and linked in. Will a "recruiter", not sure what they are called, be asking for any social app? #college #engineering #engineer #job #interviews #social #application #apply

This is a great question! Actually you don't need any social network applications or accounts to apply for a job. I would recommend having a LinkedIn account as it is the #1 social career site for networking, finding jobs, and showcasing your work history and education. I would also advice anyone to clean up their social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter because employers and recruiters do look at those sites to determine if someone will be a good fit for their company. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Facebook is for family; LinkedIn is for business. In fact, think of LinkedIn as your online resume. The other social media apps aren't relevant to employers except when you're embarrassing yourself. Clean up your Instagram and other apps. Assume your grandmother will see your social media engagement and remove anything you wouldn't want her to see.
