Should I go straight into post-secondary?
Is it recommended/better to just immediately start post-secondary right after high school? #college #university #school

Hi! I completely agree with the first reply. I would like to add that you should make sure you are doing what you want rather than what society or anyone expects of you. If you are thinking you want to go straight into post-secondary because the majority of the people around you are, I would advise to evaluate if that is what you really want. There is always time to attend additional schooling after!

Hi Calvin,
The answer depends on what you plan to do if you do not directly pursue post-secondary education right after high school. If you know what you want to major in and you have the means to go to college right away, then by all means, please do so! However, if you are unsure of what you want and are thinking of taking a gap-year to do some "soul-searching" or maybe work full-time to save for college, then there is nothing wrong with doing that either.
I advise you to "begin with the end in mind." As long as you are set to finish college no matter how many years it may take after high school, your journey to get there is all up to you on how you want to make it work. Would going straight to college be beneficial for you since you can keep your momentum as a student? Or would you rather enjoy a bit of a break to have a refreshed mind when you start college?
Good luck!
Best regards,
Angelica
