What Other Classes Should I be Taking?

As a high school Junior wanting to become a Dental Hygienist I really want to be prepared for the future. I'm not really sure about the classes I should be taking now, in high school, and the classes I should take in college once I graduate.

Dakayla’s Answer

While I was in high school, I knew that I wanted to major in dental hygiene. In preparation while in high school, I chose healthcare as my pathway. I took healthcare related courses that covered many different essential healthcare topics. When I got to college, I took the core classes needed for the dental hygiene major. You will have to take multiple science courses which include Chemistry and Microbiology.

Good question! You could also look into taking General Education (GE) courses online; this will free up your workload when you take classes in person to do those hands-on lab courses or just more courses for your major.
