Like any profession, the amount of money you make as a lawyer is impacted by many factors including your effort, competition, the path you take and luck. Attorneys in small private offices in small towns often less make less than $100,000. Government attorneys can make between $50,000 and $200,000. Lawyers who work in large corporations or at large law firms can make much more.

Being a lawyer is not easy. But like anything else in life, everything is relative. If you love what you do, it doesn't matter if it's hard or not.

There are so many areas of law that you can focus on, or you can be a generalist. For example, I practice a very specific type of law that my husband, who is also a lawyer can't stand and finds very boing. My husband is a generalist, and I would find this unrewarding if that was my daily job. For some people who chose to become a lawyer for the money, they find it is hard, boring, and not worth it. For some people who think they are going to practice one kind of law, but end of loving a different type, they may find different financial incentives depending on the type of law. However, there are many lawyers who are happy both with the type of law and the salaries.

Like any profession, salaries for lawyers vary. Some lawyers are paid a salary, some lawyers are compensated based on how many hours of work they do, and some are compensated on a combination of these or other factors. It depends on where you work and the agreement you have with your employer or the clients.

Parts of any job are boring, and being a lawyer is no exception. I don't like sending out client bills, attending meetings, or dealing with angry people, but it comes with the territory. Overall, I don't think it's boring- I like working with different clients and problem solving and working together to come to solution to my client's issues. Better yet, I help them take problems to prevent actions. It doesn't make for a good TV plot, but I enjoy it overall. Being a lawyer isn't easy- you have to go to school, pass the bar exam, then find a job and learn how to do that. If you want a job where you just go to work and don't have to do a lot of thinking, then being a lawyer is probably not a good career choice. If you like working as part of a team and solving or preventing problems, and helping people out, then it's sometimes hard, but the effort, to me, is worth it.

Lawyers fees are determined by their seniority, area of practice, number of clients, nature of the matter in hand. If a lawyer is in-house counsel then they can be on a fixed salary. It is difficult to allocate an fixed earning.

Lawyers job is not boring if that is their calling and they enjoy the area of practice. It does require a lot of on going studying and research. Keeping up to date with latest legislations and other things that needs to be taken into consideration.
