Wow, this depends on how you define "great"!
Many journals (professional magazines) and news outlets rank law firms. For example, here are three (there are MANY more!):
(1) The biggest U.S. law firms by billing (e.g., how much money the law firms make) are ranked annually by The American Lawyer, see: https://www.law.com/americanlawyer/2019/04/23/the-2019-am-law-100-by-the-numbers/ Many of these will have immigration as an area of the law they practice. You can go to the firm's website to check it out.
(2) The Legal 500 come up with its list based on surveys of in-house legal customers, and its own information about law firms deals and confidential matters. See https://www.legal500.com/c/united-states/labor-and-employment/immigration/
(3) US News & World Report ranks law firms by practice area, and they have an immigration law category: https://bestlawfirms.usnews.com/immigration-law. They come up with their ranking based on a survey of law firms, and references from clients and other attorneys.
It's always important to consider what the rankings are based on as you evaluate how important they are for your purpose.
A huge part of any law firm is it's culture - and that's really hard to get from any ranking list. Frankly, it is hard to measure objectively. Since your question asks what firms are great TO WORK FOR, I'd suggest that culture is a huge factor in one's experience at a work. Some good ways to evaluate culture are to talk to attorneys and staff who work at the law firms you are considering; follow the firms website, blogs and client alerts; look up the immigration attorneys and follow them on LinkedIn or Tweeter; search on-line work place sites like Glassdoor, CareerBliss, Indeed, etc. What may be a dream law firm for you could be the opposite for someone else, so do your research!
