The best way to describe a day in the life of a construction manager is to say that each day is different and has its own challenges. It really depends a lot on the type of project and what phase of the project you are currently completing. It may be a day full of meetings with the owner make sure you are getting all the details worked out for finishes. It may be coordinating subcontractors to ensure work is being completed in a safe and timely manner. You may also have days where you are walking the site looking at completed work and interacting with the trades. There is a plan and an order to what a manager needs to accomplish in a day but many times an unexpected issue will take priority over the plan and change the days schedule. The most rewarding parts are being presented with problems and working through them with a group of people to get things completed, seeing the progress and having a sense of accomplishment, and leaving the site when it is complete knowing you ran a safe job that will be there for a long time.
