What would be some good colleges to go to for nursing.

I really want to stay in Ohio for college but I am willing to go somewhere else. But I was wondering what some colleges are good for nursing and medicine. #university #nurse #college #medicine

Jami’s Answer

I got my associate's degree at a community college, then worked as a nurse and got my BSN online. I found that to be more cost effective and I could start working as a nurse sooner.

When shopping for a nursing school program, I would recommend that you look up the student's pass rate on taking the NCLEX. Upon graduating from nursing school, you will be required to take a nursing license exam called the NCLEX. Schools that have a high pass rate will proudly display their numbers for all to see. Not all schools make these types of statistics public. My nursing school program had a pass rate of 98% on the first try. They prepared you to pass licensure exams well, but I felt like my clinical were subpar. That's one consideration when choosing a nursing school.

You could also join student nursing communities online and ask how other student's experiences are at the schools you are considering.

I went to graduate school at University of Washington, and I must say they have a fantastic nursing program. The professors were truly invested in your success.

Best of luck!
