What did it take for you to get where you are now?

I am interested in becoming a lighting designer within the entertainment industry for things such as, concerts, television, tours, movies, and any other miscellaneous corporate events come my way.
For the past couple years I have been able to learn some of grandMA2 by playing around with it and have learned to build looks and effects to program weekend services and special events.

Min. Leslie’s Answer

First and foremost continue to educate yourself. Volunteer your services. Persistence and determination. Be teachable. I got here by continuous work and humbling myself. We don't know everything. Last but not least little by little.

Hi Matthew! Everybody definitely has different dreams and this can require different efforts. For me it is hard work, perseverance, faith, stepping out of my comfort zone and growing as a person as well as accepting that growth.

Best of luck!

Andrew Castelli’s Answer

What did it take for you to get where you are now?
Let me make the answer very short and explain in just a few words:

1. Hard work.
2. Love what you do.
3. Persistence.
4. Little by little every day.
5. Never, never give up!
Thank you comment icon I think it's great that you are starting to gain experience/knowledge with the grandMA2. I would also suggest gaining as much real life experience as possible, including smaller events or local theatre. Keep working hard, and keep loving what you do. Passion and persistence is key in the Entertainment industry! Kristin Doroshewitz
