1 - Do you desire to CREATE those music yourself? (Example roles in the industry: Producer, Composer, Arranger, etc)

Whatever it is that you are most passionate about. What wakes you up in the morning in a normal situation, what keeps you up and night from excitement not anxiety. If your lucky enough to know exactly what that is in College your WAY ahead. I am 29, and beggining Monday will be my first day actually working a real paying job in a field that fits that description.
No matter how hard it is, how long it takes or the sacrifices made ong the way, I promise it will all be so incredibly worth it.
Thats what you should do for a living, simply because it is what causes you to feel alive.

Hi Elias,
Firstly, it depends on how you want to do it, if you wish to join a group of people or a music band or do it independently.
1. Find a mentor or an expert in that field (A person who is a local resident). Spend a reasonable amount of time understanding how they started their career and DO's and Dont's while starting the career. This way, you can avoid making the same mistakes in the early stages of your career.
2. The most important aspect of the music industry is 'Personal Branding' and 'Promoting' and ' Networking,' which you will learn with your experience.
3. This is the era of Social Media! So I would also suggest you to make use of social media at its best to start on your own . There are lots of mobile music apps available where you can create your own account. You can create your own music content and post and meet a lot of other people who are in the same boat as you. Please do some research on relevant music apps available in your region.
4. Watch , follow, read about experts in this domain.
5. Try creating your own music channel on 'You Tube' or an 'Instagram' profile and share it among your friends and family. In that way you can have some followers.

A good career choice is sometimes hard to find! It helps to think about 1) what your interests are, 2) what your skills are, and 3) are there lots of jobs that require that skill. Usually a good career choice will have a balance of all 3!
Awesome that you like listening to music! Me too. This is an interest. Maybe you can think about whether you have music skills. Music skills could be playing/composing music, teaching music, writing about music, organizing music events. Jobs that require those skills are musicians, composers, producers, DJs, teachers, journalists, event organizers, etc.
I actually studied music in university (Jazz Guitar!) but I found that there were not a lot of jobs in the music industry, so even though I had an interest and skills, I decided that it was not a good career choice for me because I did not find jobs. But this was my experience, perhaps you may have a different experience! My suggestion is to read a lot about the music industry and what kinds of jobs there are. Try searching "music industry career prospects" to learn more.
Perhaps this gets you to think of other interests or skills that you have and you can do the same search with those!
Hope this helps. Wish you the best of luck! :)

Hi Elias,
Great question. As others have shared too, if you are able to find a career you love that can help you also get paid to do something you are passionate about, it can lead to a very fulfilling life. As Sung Joo suggested, there are many options to consider, but if you narrow down your choices and interests this may also help.
You might want to consider taking some online quizzes or assessments to help you further zero in on what you want to do that people are willing to pay someone to do.
Best wishes to you in your career and educational goals!
