Gvonta, thanks for the thoughtful question! Choosing to invest time and capital into a traditional four-year college or a trade school is a significant decision. Today, the world and workplace are rapidly evolving, and traditional higher education experiences are being disrupted by the widespread adoption of online educations.
As you evaluate the right option for you -- learn as much as you can and take advantage of all the resources available. Consider listening to podcasts like How I Built This with Guy Raz or watching business videos through eDx (Make sure to check out Babson’s lectures, as they’re THE leader in entrepreneurship education). Both may be helpful as you’re learning about the language of business and your interests.
As you’ll hear from CEOs of companies you may have heard of, in the How I Built this podcast, taking small, reasonable steps towards action and learning to overcome fears of failure will support your entrepreneurial activities.
Good luck!

Being an entrepreneur can mean many different things. First you need to decide what field interest you the most. Theb you have to get as much knowledge as you can in this area that interest you. I did not go to college. But I had an entrepreneurial spirit. It takes hard work and dedication. But I would suggest getting an education, at least a bachelors degree. This will also help you make contacts in the industry that interest you the most. I wish you luck. You can do whatever you want if you work hard!

Hey Gvonta, this is a great question! I am a sophomore at Georgetown University and I was also super interested in entrepreneurship when I applied to schools. The great thing about entrepreneurship is that is takes shape in many different industries and could be pursued in either a college or a trade school. I chose to attend college because I was interested in also studying marketing and English in addition to entrepreneurship. It also depends what industry you want to start your business in and what role you want to take in your business. If you want to soley run the business operations and manage the growth of your company, college might be the move for you. If you want to start a business that repairs HVAC systems and you intend on being involved yourself, learning more technical skills in trade school could be great for you! You don't necessarily need to attend either type of school to start your own business, but to find the best success for yourself, it depends if you want to build more technical (trade) or more abstract skills (college).

There are many ways you can become a successful business entrepreneur. Look at Bill Gates he dropped out of college and became extremely successful through his company Microsoft.
Certainly getting an education by going to college would always be helpful
If you are lucky enough to know what field you are going to associate yourself with then going to a trait school in that field makes a lot of sense. Some people do both. I went to college and then a trait school. I own my own businesses for 36 years and used each resource to enhance my entrepreneurial knowledge. I do not regret going to either type of schools. Having a passion for the field you have chosen goes along way
Hope this helps
