What are some good universities in Canada?

There are many great universities in Canada. It depends on what you want to major in because I think some universities are known for certain degrees / majors. Some of the great universities for specific programs that come to mind are the following:
Western University - business at Ivey School of Business
Queen's University - business at Smith School of Business, mining engineering
Waterloo - engineering, computer science, math
McMaster University - advanced medical school
University of Toronto - science, math, arts
Ryerson University - commerce and fashion
University of British Columbia - geography, sports-related subjects and Mineral, and mining engineering
McGill University - research
York University - law
Dalhousie University - education and research

Every year this publication - Macleans publishes a ranking of Canadian Universities. They rank them by different criteria as well so should check this out! And we love American students here ....so I admire your sense of adventure to possibly move here for your secondary education. Good for you.

Hi John,

University of Toronto offers both great Life Science and business program (Rotman Commerce) for undergraduate students.
McMaster is another highly ranked school for life science!
