I get it!! I have a 10 year old daughter who loves Tik-Tok and spends a lot of time creating fun dances that keeps her moving and connected with her friends. Chances are, the Tik-Tok stars you like do something that's creative and fun. You like it because you can tell they're having fun. My advice would be to find something that you really like that is creative and fun. If Tik-Tok is a way for you to share that, great! The more important thing is finding something you love and see where that takes you. Maybe it's Tik Tok or maybe it's something else even bigger!

Hi Ms.Tipton this is Tik Tokker @jayandsharon. My wife and I started playing around with Tik Tok on a road trip last July. Somehow we went from zero to 880K followers. From the start, we ONLY wanted to record things to make each other laugh. Our only audience members were each other.

Our mentality has always been about being original and posting content that consistently reflects who we are. And of course, we stuck to our main goal: always wanting to make each other laugh. It's easy to copy someone else's style, jokes, dances for one post, but it's hard to maintain if it's just not...you.

Our MAIN advice...DON'T AIM TO GO VIRAL. Your worth, your humor, your beauty, your talent, your success is not defined by how many followers you have. Honestly, the 880K followers doesn't make me happier. I don't know any of these people and I will likely never meet them. What makes me happy is recording something and watching shoulder-to-shoulder next to my wife as we laugh hysterically at our own jokes.

So Mrs.Tipton's 3rd grade class, I am giving you all a challenge... Make a Tik Tok that makes your best friend or a family member SMILE :) :) :)

...if you succeed you are VIRAL in my standards!

Hi Ms. Tipton and third grade class!

I will start off by saying that I am nowhere near TikTok famous but I'm an avid user of the app and love to create content on the platform. I think it's exciting that you want to use your creativity to make videos and contribute to the platform. Here are some tips that I think might help:

1. Create content people want to see. Think about what types of videos you and your friends like to watch and think about how you can recreate them. The Discover Page is a great place to start because it shows you whats trending and you can hop on the trend too. This page shows you popular dances, sounds, and hashtags being used.
2. Learn how to edit. One of the most fun parts of TikTok is that you can let your creativity shine through editing. This can be as simple as using the green screen filter on the app to downloading one of the hundreds of TikTok editing apps to stitch videos together.
3. Timing is key! Learn when most users are on the app and try to time your uploads to post during the popular hours. Here's a helpful link that shows some of those popular time slots: https://www.oberlo.com/blog/best-time-to-post-on-tiktok#:~:text=According%20to%20Influencer%20Marketing%20Hub,Eastern%20Standard%20Time%20(EST).
4. Make sure to follow the community guidelines. I know following the rules can be boring but if you don't adhere to TikTok's guidelines, they will remove your videos. It's hard to become famous when no one can see the great content you are posting!
5. Most importantly, have fun with it! Yes, getting TikTok famous might be the goal but the app is designed for people to laugh, have fun, be creative, and find people they can relate to. It might take a while to gain view counts and followers but don't let that discourage you. As long as it sparks joy in you, keep doing it!

I hope you find these tips to be helpful and I'm sure you find all sorts of resources online with even more information. Hopefully, the class ends up on my For You Page (FYP) soon!
