You can probably get an entry level job at a clothing store without prior experience but they will definately be looking for some specific personality traits.
You will learn a lot about all of your questions and higher end things just by doing that
It would be important to be pleasant, positive (smile and have positive answers etc) show some self confidence and be a little outspoken. Of course it would be very important to look "put together' with a general appearance that you care about yourself, your hair is styled and you have a complete outfit with accessories and shoes etc that look like you have a knack for just throwing things together that look poised. Be careful not to be too eccentric in your choices though, unless of course you really think it's the kind of store where that is what they are looking for.
Choose the stores you want to work at and go ahead of time and check out the employees, especially anyone who seems to be management or leaders and emulate their look and demeanor if possible (unless for some weird reason they seem especially awful.. in which case you likely don't want to work there anyway ;-)

For an entry level job the best qualification would be yourself and that your personality fits within the style of the store.
Before an interview I would recommend visiting the Store and making sure that your outfit for the interview is set in a similar tone as their current employees are wearing.
A clothing store for a big brand most likely has a particular style e.g. white t-shirts and jeans, button down shirts or if a little more upscale smart or casual business style.
Having a more outgoing personality would also be a plus vs being shy as you will need to be able to approach customers in the store.
While in deep market knowledge won't be necessary for an entry level job it will be good for you to know the company, what style of clothes they are selling as well as what their target audience is.

This was my very first job and I loved it! I was lucky and knew someone who worked there and had just turned 16. Excited to be making money! I didn't have any experience except I loved clothes and wanted to have a job. It taught me how to interact with others, provide assistance on making purchasing decisions. Recommending additional products to increase the sales. I also got the opportunity to inventory and process new product coming into the store. It was fun and engaging and taught me a lot about business. It's a great place to being! All the best!
