Thank you comment icon You've gotten great advice from all three professionals here, Tiffanie! One more tip is to not get more student loan than you really need. That was one of my mistakes. It's great that you're examining this early! Hope LeNoir

Janet’s Answer

Hi, I can share my experience because I didn't have college funds either...I found a company that would pay for my college classes while I worked full time. It had to be business related classes and it did take me 6 years to finish college attending evening classes but I was willing to work hard since they were paying. You were required to make a minimum grade - don't remember if it was a B or C but that is fair since they were paying. I was able to take 9 hours each semester since I was also working full time. It was great because I was building up work experience at the same time I got my education. Years later I got my MBA attending classes on the weekends while I worked full time and once again, that company paid for my education. It took me 2 years of taking classes on the weekends and studying after work during the week. If you are targeting certain companies you might want to look at the benefits they offer to see if they pay for education, they usually post that on their website.

Shanell L.’s Answer

Hi Tiffanie! You are wise to be thinking about your finances early. Janet and Ken offer sound advise on ways to lessen college debt. There are employers who also help pay for a percentage of college debt already accumulated. As Janet mentioned, this is another benefit you can ask about when you are interviewing.

Hope that helps & good luck!!
Shanell
