Doyou usually end up in the same social status as your parents?

My friend told this to me once and I was wondering the validity of it. If you are middle class will you end up staying in the middle class?.. If you are in the higher class.. and so forth. #job #work

Simeon’s Answer

It's not usually that you end up in the same socioeconomic class as your parents. Honestly, most parents want to help their children do well, so it's pretty common that children will end up better off than their parents.

Daphne’s Answer

Hey Tiffany, I do not believe this to be true. I'm a good example of this. Both of my parents are low income almost poverty level because of poor choices they made in life. Due to the fact that I grew up this way I made the decision to break cycle. I vowed that I would never be like my parents and just settle for what life threw at me. Don't get me wrong, I have struggled, but I have kept my head held high and pushed through my hardships with hard work and determination. Do not let anyone define you or the person you want to be. It's all about choices and making your way in the world. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great at whatever you choose to do.

No never. It is not in your hands in which class you born but it is in your hands in which class you want to live and what you want to become. Your work decides your status not the class which you born.

Monica’s Answer

What social economic status you are born into is just the starting point, you determine the finish line. There is no denying that being born with privilege that comes with upper class can help people get a head start, but I have seen too many people that have this type of upbringing waste their opportunities. Just as I seen people from lower class, take ownership of their situation and rise, and rise. What and who you become is up to you. Each person can determine their life outcomes through education (this is key), hard work, and some luck, etc. Try not to focus only on the social/economic status as there is more to life...being a good person, healthy, happy does not depend on your social/economic status.
