Hello! A Aerospace Engineer is a specific type of engineering that focuses more on how things fly and go into space. From what I have read the main difference between an aerospace engineer and a mechanical engineer is that in aerospace youll spend more time learning the effects of space on equipment and machines and the differences that you face between something that operates on the ground vs the air. Overall engineering is a difficult degree in general with each segment having there own challenges but in the end its all under the same umbrella. Like mechanical engineering (which I'm studying) one of general challenges is physics. Physics is challenges because it can be difficult to hardwire your brain like a physicist and in many cases what you thing should occur wont and physics can show you why. Physics really is used to explain why moving objects do what they do. Another challenge of aerospace engineering will be the fluid dynamics courses. Here you'll begin to learn why objects moving in a fluid (air, water, etc.) act like they do. This is critical to aerospace because you'll primarily focus on how objects like plans and rockets fly.
Overall if you enjoy problem solving and the challenge of problem solving engineering is super fun. Hopefully this was helpful. Good luck!

One of the tough things is having time to fully solve problems, or design and test new products. All projects have a timeline that requires projects to be done by certain times. Unfortunately the work that needs to be done correctly takes more time than the schedule, so, you'll have someone pushing you to get the work done sooner. With experience, you'll get quicker, but some things just take longer.
Another is learning the processes, how the people and managers work together, so that you know what and how to do things. Training doesn't cover everything.
If you're in the design area, then figuring out how to design a product, how to meet the requirements and make it fit into the aircraft can be very challenging.
There's many more but these are the typical ones you run into.
