Which careers integrate art and math/science?

Im a Junior but I've been wondering since 9th grade what to study, because originally I wanted to study Aerospacial engineering, later on Pediatric Chiropactor and right now I have no Idea what to study. I'm injterested in art beacause I've been studying Theater, dance and music(I just graduated from the theathre program.Right now I'm specializing In dance folkloric dances and basic ballet and Music singing, viola and the trumpet). But also I'm studying on a specialized school on math and science which I love but I wouldn't like to abandon any of those areas, regarding arts and science,so I would like to study something that involves art and science. All recommendations are welcome.

Thanks in advance #engineering #science #music #theatre #fine-art #performing-arts #theatrical-production

Salome:

You have a very interesting situation. You obviously love the arts and have a wide variety of experiences with them. You state that you are very interested in the sciences, as well. When it comes time for college it seems to me that you could Major in one area and Minor in the other, blending both interests. But as far as a career that integrates both, I am at a loss. But here's a suggestion.

There are a number of respected scientists that integrate science and entertainment. Bill Nye the Science Guy and Neil deGrasse Tyson come to mind. I suggest you contact these men by letter and see what ideas they might have.

Good luck, Pete Sturtevant, P.E.

How wonderful you are. Your passions and curiosity lead me to believe no matter your path. A life of interest and the joy of discovery lay before you. Just presenting your question gives me comfort and a feeling of wellness. So thank you.
( Agreed Rahul ) Creativity/Arts are math and science and vice versa they are one and the same Only the mediums differ. Problem solving can be fun and is rewarding.(my definition of creating art)
As an Artist and like you I love the sciences as well. I Often incorporate a visual experience with a science based theory. Kinetic Art / Motion in real time (a form of dance)

My thoughts here are based on my training and a 40 year career which was and is based on sculpture with a foundation in painting. Note that has not precluded me from experimenting / learning to use contemporary tools. I am currently working on a digital platform and experimenting in VR / AR . I have a bias for tech
Career thoughts.
As of today It is my impression Computer Science will open many doors and will be a very creative platform while having a great impact on the arts as well as the sciences.
We are at a moment in history where the divide between disciplines grow smaller by the day.
For you an example. The study of anatomy is applied to medical arts as well as visual arts (dance / figurative sculpture) . Add an unlimited access to data and you have a great chance to solve problems once thought impossible.
An exiting time indeed.
Listen to the ones who love you. Stay true to yourself. Have fun

Good Luck,

Thank you comment icon Thank you a lot. I just found an internship in Yale that offers Visual and performing arts as well Science, checking details to get myself enrolled for summer.. Salome

I would suggest you look at programs of study which would support your interests. UC-Davis has a new art and science program. There will likely be new career opportunities up and coming which are unknown to us old fogies.
Other more traditional science careers involve creative thinking and problem solving to find solutions. Geology requires quite a bit of drawing in the field, but you may not like the remote locations (or politics) of the oil and mining industries who often hire geologists. Arts integration teachers use art to bolster the learning of STEM courses. Good luck!

Thank you comment icon Thanks a lot for the reccommendation, I'll look it up now Salome

Architecture is one way to fuse art and math with creativity into a utilitarian design. I recommend you look towards Biochemistry for one way to memorize information and create formations using creativity and a mathematical mind. Congratulations to your life!

Thank you comment icon I've thought about architecture but still not sure, anyway thanks for the support . Salome
