How much does your physical appearance matter in the entertainment industry?

It seems most advertising/media features people with bodies that don't represent the general public. I know every person is different, but one body type seems to be the dominant factor. For women and girls, the media believes they should be thin and pretty. For men and boys, they need to be very muscular. If I, (and frankly a lot of other people) don't live up to these expectations, would I not be financially successful in this industry? #acting #actor #body-image

The entertainment industry is very conscious in regards of appearance. To be a part of such, you need to obey their terms. Off course there are exceptions; however, there are rare.
