How hard is it to work on holidays since that is when the demand for entertainment and people in the entertainment industry is so high?
I enjoy playing basketball and would possibly consider playing college basketball. During Christmas and Thanksgivings there is always sports on the TV and that is usually what families like to do when together, so I wanted to know if it is hard for athletes to be away from their families during times when everyone is with their family. at #athlete

Thank you for such an honest important question. Most people will tell you it is very hard, especially when the rest of your family may be on a more traditional work week/year. If sports or entertainment is a career path for you, this is something you will have to settle with yourself and your family early and often. Typically, the people I work with absolutely love the product they work on and would not have it any other way. They know they may be covering a NBA game on Christmas day, every year, for 15 years, and they have figured out how to celebrate with their family on other days. Working for Disney and ESPN for 25 years myself, I have often heard and repeated "We work while others play". If you are unsure this kind of life is for you, it will be hard to succeed. I see a number of people start at ESPN only to get homesick and miss the time with family that end up leaving. Hope this helps!
