Mauro’s Answer

Hi Ron,

I struggled as well with Accounting. Looking at credit and debit, checks and balances is tiring. I would not just give up that easily on accounting. Thought I'm not an accountant, definitely I was in the same boat as you are in.

I used to do Accounting while listening to music, that used to help me focus and do well in Accounting.

Reason why i wanted to do Accounting is because its a career where you get to understand the movement of the company. You get to see where the company is dipping their toes and you get to know as well good and bad practices of the company.

I hope this helps your journey in Accounting.

Thank you comment icon It helps me Sir. I am now trying my best to understand Accounting since, I like also to be part on business industry someday. Thank You very much sir. God bless you :) Ron

Steward "Tony"’s Answer

Ask your self "What Do I Love To Do?" and "If I Can't Do That, What Else Do I Love To Do?"
The rest should be easy. Living in PI, I am not sure of what opportunities are available to you, but you have already lost motivation to study numbers, which is fine. Not everyone is a numbers person and to do it for 30 to 40 years till retirement can be rewarding if your lucky.

The agribusiness is a great course for people who love to mingle with people instead of being stuck in an office counting beans. This will help you understand and help people prep, grow, maintain and market aggie products and services. You still need to study numbers but you will be more hands on.

Choose something that fits your personality because you should love going to work and love going home as much as you love going to sleep.

Lovelace’s Answer

Reach out to your academic advisor and have them help you do a career assessment so they can help you best fit your degree to your interests. I too started in accounting back many years ago, but opted for a different path and ultimately got my degree in electrical engineering. Accounting is a great field to pursue, but there are other options if you find accounting to not be your passion.
