While I don't have direct experience in this field, there is a website/app called "Glassdoor." Using this you can type in a location and the type of job. It should show you the average salary in that area for that job. Good luck!

From my experience, a licensed mechanic makes between $20-$30 an hour depending on shop, experience, skills, and licenses. Most shops work on book time. Book time pays a certain hour rate (3 hr.) And the repair pays 3 hours, even if it takes you 2 or 4. The faster more efficient and skilled you are the more you make. So even at $20 an hour you could still make $25 per hour if you beat book time.
