Hi Bonjoh,
Nursing is a science as it is evidenced based practice for care we deliver to our patients.
It is important that nursing is vital to medical lab science and all scientific disciplines so that nurses can assist with infection, cancer treatment, chronic conditions such as heart failure and diabetes and more.
It is estimated that 70% of medical decisions are based on test results (Wikipedia).
Nurses help provide the interventions to patients based on test results which would include: medications, use of equipment to monitor conditions, positioning, vital sign measurement and more.
If you are considering a nursing career, a background in medical lab science will help prepare you for an exciting career.
Good luck!
