What are the pros and cons of a private university?
As a rising junior, I want to know what are the good and bad things that could come out of a private university. I want to know what would happen if I miraculously got the chance to dorm there. I want to know what I can know at this moment. Also, if a public university is better instead than a private university. #college #university #college-recruiting

Well, there are pros and cons to public and private and discovering what is right for you is very personal. Probably the biggest difference is financial. Private schools are typically much more expensive. If going to a private school would leave you with more debt, then I would recommend public. There are many good public schools that will be able to provide you with an equally good education for much less money. You can still live in a dorm in a public school, too.
The big difference between public and private is typically size. You will likely experience smaller classes and more interaction with your professors in a private school. Conversely, public schools are typically larger, but also may have more options and resources (such as facilities and class options).
I recommend you visit the schools that you're considering and talk with the students and professors and check out the dorms to see which one feels like the right fit for you with the programs and resources that are important to you.
